John Denver became a star through the folk-inspired songs that he wrote, many of which were set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Germandorf at Roswell located in the state of New Mexico, fell in love with Colorado. He settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems have inspired many to visit Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado like John Denver." Denver was the very first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. He is the face of Colorado for a lot of people around the world. People you meet in other countries, like New Zealanders, and they say "I am originally from Colorado" then they immediately reply by saying Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short time in small folk groups. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the tune, however Denver realized that it could be a huge hit after the song was first heard by him. Just a few days after singing to an enthusiastic crowd in Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
